JPMorgan Chase has appointed Mark Fiteny and Matt Gehl as Co-Heads of International Technology Investment Banking, according to Reuters, expanding the responsibilities of two senior bankers who currently lead technology investment banking teams in Asia-Pacific and EMEA.
Fiteny currently serves as Head of Asia-Pacific Technology, Media and Telecom and New Economy Investment Banking, while Gehl is Head of EMEA Technology Investment Banking.
Both executives bring more than two decades of experience and will support JPMorgan’s technology clients globally through their expanded roles.
Gehl will remain based in London, while Fiteny will remain based in Hong Kong, giving the international technology investment banking leadership team senior coverage across two major global financial and technology markets.
The appointments were disclosed in an internal JPMorgan memo and confirmed by a company spokesperson.
JPMorgan is also making a leadership change within its EMEA technology investment banking business.
Pieter Himpe, who currently leads EMEA Internet and Tech Services within JPMorgan’s technology investment banking division, has been named Co-Head of EMEA Technology Investment Banking.
Himpe will lead the EMEA business alongside veteran JPMorgan banker Bill Hutchings.
The appointments give JPMorgan a broader senior leadership structure for its international technology investment banking franchise while maintaining regional leadership across Asia-Pacific and Europe.
Fiteny and Gehl will now support technology clients internationally, while Himpe and Hutchings will oversee the firm’s EMEA technology investment banking activities.
