Juniper Square: Acquisition Of Sightglass To Expand AI Capabilities For Private Markets Investor Relations

By Amit Chowdhry • Today at 12:13 PM

Juniper Square announced it has acquired Sightglass, an AI-native due diligence questionnaire automation company, in a move aimed at strengthening its platform for private markets investor relations and fund operations.

The acquisition integrates purpose-built AI technology directly into the Juniper Square platform, enabling investor relations and finance teams to automate complex diligence workflows. The company said this can reduce response times by up to 90 percent while maintaining fully auditable and source-verified outputs.

Juniper Square, which supports more than 2,000 general partners globally, is positioning the deal as a strategic expansion of its AI capabilities rather than a standalone product addition. By embedding Sightglass’s technology into its existing data infrastructure, the platform enables firms to generate accurate responses using their internal fund and investor data.

The growing complexity of institutional fundraising has significantly increased the burden of due diligence. Standard diligence frameworks have nearly tripled in complexity, often requiring between 40 and 60 hours of manual work across multiple teams, including investor relations, finance, compliance, and legal, for a single request. The combined platform aims to streamline this process through automation and centralized data access.

Sightglass’s technology is designed specifically for private markets workflows, offering features such as automated questionnaire ingestion, AI-generated first-draft responses, dynamic source citation with page-level verification, real-time collaboration across teams, and human-in-the-loop approval workflows with full audit trails.

The acquisition reflects Juniper Square’s broader strategy to modernize private markets infrastructure by unifying data, workflows, and AI-driven tools within a single platform. The company currently manages more than $1 trillion in limited partner capital through its system, supporting functions including fundraising, investor onboarding, compliance, treasury, and reporting.

KEY QUOTES:

“IR teams are currently drowning in a growing volume of complex diligence requests, and generic tools simply cannot parse the terminology and nuance of institutional private markets. This is not just a product addition; it is a strategic expansion of our AI platform. By connecting DDQ automation to the investor and fund data already inside Juniper Square, we are helping firms deliver accurate, audit-trailed responses in a fraction of the time.”

Jay Farber, General Manager, GPX, Juniper Square

“Joining Juniper Square is the natural next step to automate the most tedious parts of fund operations. The firms that win the next decade of fundraising will be those that leverage their own relationship history and data narrative to respond to LPs with unprecedented speed and accuracy.”
