JUPUS Raises €13 Million To Expand Legal AI For Law Firms

JUPUS announced it has completed a €13 million Series A funding round to expand its legal AI platform for small and medium-sized law firms.

The round was led by Semapa Next, with NRW.BANK joining as a co-investor. Existing investors Acton Capital and HTGF | High-Tech Gründerfonds also participated again.

JUPUS was founded around the belief that small and medium-sized law firms are the backbone of the legal system but are facing growing capacity constraints. The company pointed to a major workforce imbalance in the legal industry: over the past 30 years, the number of lawyers has tripled, while the number of newly trained paralegals has fallen by more than 70%.

The company is addressing this issue with legal AI designed to perform work directly, helping lawyers and their teams regain time and focus for client service and legal work.

JUPUS said more than 2,000 lawyers currently use its platform. Every day, more than 2,000 new cases are processed through the company’s AI.

The company said each case processed through JUPUS represents a law firm that gains more time for legal work and a client who receives answers faster.

With the new funding, JUPUS plans to bring its platform to more law firms and continue expanding its AI capabilities based on the needs its customers show in daily practice.

KEY QUOTES:

“JUPUS was founded with a simple thesis: small and medium-sized law firms are the backbone of the legal system. And they are running out of capacity.”

“We solve this problem with the first legal AI that does the work itself – so that lawyers and their teams have a clear head again for what clients come to do in the first place.”

“Today, over 2,000 lawyers work with JUPUS. Every day, more than 2,000 new cases are processed via our AI. Behind each of these cases is a law firm that has more time for legal work with JUPUS and a client who gets an answer faster.”

“With the fresh capital, we are bringing JUPUS to more law firms and further expanding our AI where our clients show us what they really need every day.”
