Kahua Secures Bain Capital Growth Investment At Valuation Above $1 Billion

Kahua has secured a minority growth investment from Bain Capital’s Tech Opportunities business at a valuation above $1 billion, giving the construction technology company additional capital to accelerate its next stage of expansion.

The investment follows Kahua reaching $100 million in annualized revenue, a major milestone for the company’s AI-powered enterprise construction platform. Kahua plans to use the new capital to continue investing in artificial intelligence and product innovation, while expanding its go-to-market organization, customer success operations, and talent development initiatives.

Kahua is designed for organizations managing large and complex capital programs, particularly projects in which numerous stakeholders, workflows, and data sources must remain connected over multiple years. Its platform brings people, processes, and project data into a single, configurable, and governed environment, providing owners and delivery teams with a system of record spanning the asset lifecycle.

The company serves more than 2,500 customers across a range of industries and currently supports more than $400 billion in capital programs through its platform. Kahua said the governed data and operational context within the platform also provides a foundation for deploying AI directly within the workflows customers use to plan, manage, and make decisions about major assets and construction programs.

Kahua has focused heavily on highly regulated and mission-critical markets, including the federal government, defense, transportation, healthcare, and education sectors. The company also sees opportunities as capital spending increases across energy, digital infrastructure, data centers, and other large asset categories.

Many organizations overseeing these programs continue to operate through fragmented software systems and disconnected processes. Kahua’s strategy is to consolidate those workflows and associated information into a governed platform that can provide portfolio-level visibility and collaboration from initial funding and planning through construction and long-term operation.

The Bain Capital investment is expected to help Kahua further develop AI capabilities that can operate using the project data, permissions, and context already contained within its platform. The companies also plan to invest in broader product development and commercial expansion as Kahua grows across industries and markets.

Bain Capital Tech Opportunities invests in growing technology companies and will bring experience scaling enterprise software businesses to the partnership. Parent firm Bain Capital, founded in 1984, operates across private equity, growth and venture investing, capital solutions, credit and real assets. Bain Capital has approximately $225 billion in assets under management, more than 2,000 employees, and 24 offices across four continents.
