Kai, a San Jose, California–based cybersecurity company building an agentic AI platform designed to autonomously perform security operations, has emerged from stealth with $125 million in funding.

The round was led by Evolution Equity Partners, with participation from N47 and additional strategic investors.

Founded by cybersecurity entrepreneurs Galina Antova and Dr. Damiano Bolzoni, Kai has developed an AI-driven cybersecurity platform designed to reason, act, and adapt autonomously. The platform aims to transform security operations by replacing fragmented tools and manual workflows with autonomous AI agents that continuously manage threat intelligence, exposure management, detection, and response across a unified pipeline.

According to the company, traditional security teams are struggling to keep pace with increasingly automated cyberattacks. Kai’s approach is designed to shift security from reactive defense to proactive, machine-speed response by enabling AI agents to execute security tasks end-to-end without the bottlenecks of human-driven processes.

Kai says its platform was built by a team of PhD and postdoctoral AI researchers alongside experienced cybersecurity operators. Within ten months of writing its first line of code, the company reports signing multiple enterprise customers and generating seven-figure bookings, with adoption across sectors including energy, pharmaceuticals, automotive, and hospitality.

The company also gained early traction in the energy sector through participation in the Chevron Technology Ventures Catalyst Program, which focuses on accelerating technologies with the potential to improve Chevron’s core operations.

Antova previously co-founded Claroty, an industrial cybersecurity company that focuses on securing cyber-physical systems, while Bolzoni previously co-founded SecurityMatters, an operational technology cybersecurity firm that was acquired by Forescout Technologies.

Kai plans to use the new funding to accelerate its go-to-market expansion, deepen its AI research capabilities, and further scale its platform as organizations increasingly face AI-driven cyber threats.

KEY QUOTES

“Cybersecurity is quickly becoming a contest between AI systems. The decisive factor is which side has richer data and can act at machine speed with human expert accuracy. We’ve created a unified, agentic cybersecurity platform from the ground up. Kai replaces fragmentation with intelligent, autonomous agents that execute security work end-to-end: across multiple use cases, and we’re just getting started.”

Galina Antova, Co-Founder And CEO Of Kai

“AI has ushered in a new era for cybersecurity, disrupting traditional defense while enabling new, automated attacks humans alone can’t match. Kai’s approach was designed to close that gap by letting agentic AI prioritize action and execute response. That shift is why we backed Kai, and why enterprises are moving quickly to adopt it.”
