Kanbrick, a long-term investment partnership focused on investing in and growing family-owned businesses, announced a minority partnership with Depatie Fluid Power Group, a manufacturer, distributor, and service provider of fluid power components and automation systems. The investment is designed to provide long-term strategic support as Depatie enters its next phase of growth.
Founded in 1956, Depatie has spent 70 years building a differentiated platform in motion control and automation, offering products, equipment, and engineering services across mission-critical fluid power applications. The company is led by second-generation owner Ryan Thomas, who has overseen its expansion through a series of strategic acquisitions, including Am-Dy-Nic, Great Lakes, Hose & Automation, Hydraulic Systems Inc., International Fluid Power, J.E.M. Fluid Power, and West Michigan Hydraulics.
In 2026, Depatie and its subsidiaries were incorporated into the American Motion Group family of companies, which also includes CKC Automation, a full-spectrum automation provider, and Threadcraft Inc., a ball screw manufacturer. Together, the group operates 12 locations across the U.S., serving thousands of customers worldwide in industries such as aerospace, medical, automotive, mining, and agriculture.
Kanbrick will work closely with Thomas and the broader American Motion Group platform to expand capabilities and services, supporting continued growth in motion control and automation markets.
Depatie now joins Kanbrick’s portfolio of family- and founder-led businesses, which includes JM Test Systems, Marine Concepts, Laboratory Testing (LTI), Alchemy Analytical Group (AAG), and Keep Supply.
