KanEquip Opens First JCB-Only Dealership In Kansas City To Expand Equipment Sales And Service

KanEquip has opened its first dealership dedicated exclusively to JCB equipment in the Kansas City market, expanding the Midwest equipment dealer’s construction machinery sales, parts and service operations.

The Kansas City location marks a new stage in KanEquip’s relationship with JCB, which began in 2019 with wheel loaders and telehandlers and has since grown into one of the company’s largest equipment lines.

JCB products are already available from six KanEquip locations across Kansas.

The Kansas City operation, however, is the company’s first facility devoted solely to the JCB brand.

KanEquip is a 14-location agricultural and construction equipment dealer organization whose roots trace back to Meinhardt Farm Equipment, founded in Wamego, Kansas, in 1967.

Jim Meinhardt established KanEquip in 1999 after the business combined with other family dealerships.

His sons Bryndon and Grant Meinhardt acquired majority ownership in 2019 and have continued expanding the company.

KanEquip represents equipment brands including Case IH, New Holland, JCB and Kubota, depending on the location.

JCB has become increasingly important to the portfolio.

In 2025, KanEquip was recognized by JCB as one of the three largest Fastrac dealers worldwide.

The company’s expansion into Kansas City was helped by the sale of CSTK, or Central States Thermo King, to Trane.

That transaction created an opportunity for KanEquip to maintain local JCB support while hiring experienced employees who had previously worked with the equipment line.

KanEquip said retaining that existing expertise was a central reason for entering the market.

The companies had worked alongside each other for years, giving KanEquip familiarity with the former CSTK team’s experience serving JCB customers and rental operations.

The new location will provide JCB equipment sales along with parts and service support for customers throughout the Kansas City area.

KanEquip also views the expansion as an opportunity to create jobs, establish new customer relationships and deepen its presence in the Kansas City business community.

JCB manufactures construction and agricultural machinery through 22 plants across four continents and maintains a dealer network exceeding 750 locations globally.

For KanEquip, the Kansas City dealership provides a dedicated platform for a brand that has grown substantially within its product portfolio since the relationship began seven years ago.

KEY QUOTES:

“We were able to pick up the line in 2019. We really thought it would be just some wheel loaders and some telehandlers, and it’s grown much beyond that.”

Grant Meinhardt, Vice President and General Manager of KanEquip JCB

“That’s really what we were going after in the Kansas City market — the employees. We were able to save a number of the employees, and we’re really blessed to have them because they are very good at their jobs.”
