KatRisk Acquires Symfos To Expand Underwriting And Portfolio Risk Intelligence

By Amit Chowdhry • Jan 13, 2026

KatRisk, a global provider of catastrophe risk models and climate analytics, has acquired Symfos, a UK-based software company whose Orchestra platform is used by insurers and reinsurers for underwriting and portfolio intelligence.

The deal pairs KatRisk’s catastrophe and climate modeling capabilities with Symfos’ tools designed to operationalize risk insights across underwriting, exposure management, and executive reporting. The combined offering aims to help carriers move faster on decisions, improve risk pricing accuracy, and manage accumulation as weather-related losses become more frequent and harder to predict.

Orchestra is positioned as a decision layer that helps teams interpret, compare, and apply catastrophe-model outputs in real time, supporting dynamic pricing and rapid portfolio analysis without requiring customers to rely on a single catastrophe model. KatRisk said the integration will further strengthen Orchestra’s capabilities and reduce reliance on disconnected tools and manual workflows.

KatRisk, a Technosylva company founded in 2012, supports clients in more than 190 countries and models risks tied to floods, hurricanes, storm surges, hail, wildfires, tornadoes, and other perils. Symfos focuses on catastrophe risk pricing, portfolio management, and exposure analytics for the (re)insurance market.
