Katten has added Genevieve Weiner as a partner in its Restructuring practice in Los Angeles, expanding the firm’s capabilities across bankruptcy, distressed transactions, and restructuring matters. Weiner joins Katten from Sidley Austin.
She represents secured and unsecured creditors, lenders, debtors and other stakeholders in complex restructurings, distressed M&A, assignments for the benefit of creditors, receiverships and out-of-court restructurings.
Her industry experience includes healthcare, real estate, technology and general corporate matters.
Weiner also advises financial institutions, private credit firms, alternative lenders and trade creditors on distressed investments, loan enforcement, cash collateral, debtor-in-possession financing, adequate protection disputes and bankruptcy litigation.
For strategic buyers, she advises on distressed acquisitions involving Section 363 sales and UCC foreclosure proceedings.
Katten said her arrival also supports its broader strategy of expanding its California presence and strengthening the restructuring capabilities available to clients nationwide.
