Formation Of The Company

How did the idea for the company come together? Abramov shared:

Keymakr and later Keylabs.ai were co-founded by Arie Zilberman, Michael Seldin, and me. For all of us, it was the right moment to respond to the growing demand for accurate training data for computer vision and machine learning. Almost ten years ago, AI and computer vision weren’t as ubiquitous as they are today, but we were confident in their future. I’m proud to say we have a great team where everyone has their area of focus and brings unique expertise to the table. Working together we and all our team push the boundaries of innovation and make AI-driven solutions a reality across the full range of industries.”

Favorite Memory

What has been your favorite memory working for the company so far? Abramov reflected:

“Our company had the privilege of contributing to a truly transformative project in the agricultural sector. The goal of this innovative initiative was to develop an AI-driven vehicle equipped with a laser system. It is capable of precisely targeting and eliminating weeds, as well as thinning crops — all without the use of harmful chemicals.”

“This technology represents a monumental achievement in sustainable farming. By avoiding chemical treatments, farmers can protect their crops without exposing them to potentially harmful substances. Beyond the crops themselves, this method has a profound positive impact on the surrounding ecosystem. Traditional herbicides and pesticides often harm wildlife, including small mammals and insects like bees.”

“Bees by the way play an irreplaceable role in pollination. However, their populations are in steep decline, with many species on the brink of extinction. Current methods of artificial pollination are still neither scalable nor effective, making the preservation of bee populations a top priority for humanity.”

“The laser-equipped robotics vehicle addresses this issue head-on. By targeting only weeds and harmful pests, the technology spares insects like bees from exposure to toxic chemicals. It provides a sustainable, efficient solution that promotes healthier ecosystems and more reliable crop yields.”

“Our role in this project was to annotate the vast amounts of visual data required to train the AI system. This involved creating precise labels for images of crops, weeds, and pests, enabling the AI to accurately distinguish between harmful and beneficial plants or organisms.”

“We are proud to have played a part in this project. It’s a great example of how AI and computer vision can drive real-world solutions to some of the most pressing challenges of our time. This technology is not just about farming efficiency; it’s about safeguarding the future of agriculture and protecting vital ecosystems.”
