King & Spalding has added Phil Bowman as a partner in its Business Litigation practice group in New York, continuing a significant expansion of the firm’s partnership ranks during 2026.
Bowman is a first-chair trial lawyer and commercial litigator who represents clients in complex business disputes in federal and state courts across the U.S. as well as domestic and international arbitrations.
His practice includes life sciences collaboration and licensing disputes, post-acquisition and other M&A-related litigation, trade secret and restrictive covenant matters, antitrust disputes, and litigation involving private equity, venture capital, investment management and technology clients.
Bowman joins King & Spalding from Cooley, where he was a partner.
He earned his J.D. from Yale Law School and his B.A., cum laude, from Columbia University.
Bowman’s arrival is part of a broader expansion at King & Spalding.
The firm said it has added 64 partners during 2026, including 23 partners in its Business Litigation practice group and 18 partners based in New York.
His practice also creates opportunities for collaboration across King & Spalding’s commercial litigation, antitrust and consumer protection, international arbitration, securities and corporate litigation, trade secret, financial services, life sciences, healthcare and technology capabilities.
