King & Spalding Adds Fund Finance Partner Gloria Kim In New York

King & Spalding has added Gloria Kim as a Partner in its Finance and Restructuring practice group in New York. Her appointment brings the firm’s recent fund finance expansion to 13 lawyers.

Kim advises borrowers and lenders on complex financing transactions. Her practice covers fund finance, leveraged finance, structured credit and distressed transactions.

Her fund finance experience includes subscription credit facilities, net asset value financings, general partner financings and portfolio-level credit arrangements. She also advises clients on customized structures designed for the specific liquidity and capital needs of investment funds and their sponsors.

Subscription facilities are typically secured by the uncalled capital commitments of a fund’s investors. NAV financings are generally supported by the value or cash flows of portfolio investments, while GP financings can provide liquidity to a fund manager or general partner.

Kim represents asset managers, investment funds, private equity sponsors, financial institutions and public and privately held companies. Her experience spans transactions involving established financing products as well as more specialized structures.

She joins King & Spalding from Proskauer Rose, where she previously worked with partners Ron Franklin, Andrew Bettwy and Jin Joo. Those lawyers joined King & Spalding in June 2026, along with nine other members of their group.

The expansion follows the arrival of fund finance partner Chris Montgomery in New York earlier in 2026. King & Spalding also added a London fund finance team led by Samantha Hutchinson in 2024.

Kim will collaborate with lawyers across the firm’s finance, investment funds, restructuring and related practices. King & Spalding said her existing relationships and experience working with members of the expanded team should support immediate integration across its New York and London platforms.

The firm’s Finance and Restructuring practice includes more than 150 lawyers across 11 offices. It represents major U.S. and international banks, private credit funds, asset managers, private equity sponsors and corporate borrowers.
