King & Spalding has added Joel Goldberg as a partner in its Energy industry team and Corporate practice group in Houston, expanding the firm’s capabilities across conventional energy, renewable power, LNG, battery storage, carbon capture, and infrastructure projects.
Goldberg advises clients throughout the full lifecycle of energy and infrastructure projects, including project development, financing, acquisitions, and commercial transactions.
His experience spans conventional and renewable electricity projects, liquefied natural gas, renewable natural gas, battery energy storage, and carbon capture facilities.
Goldberg also advises on engineering, procurement and construction agreements, offtake contracts, joint ventures, power purchase agreements, energy commodity transactions, and project financings.
His background combines private practice experience with an in-house operational perspective.
Before returning to private practice, Goldberg served as General Counsel and Commercial Director of Energy Developments.
He joins King & Spalding from Porter Hedges, where he was Practice Group Leader of the firm’s Property and Finance Practice Group.
King & Spalding sees Goldberg’s Houston relationships and experience across both conventional and renewable energy as complementary to its established energy and infrastructure practice.
The firm’s integrated platform also gives Goldberg access to lawyers working across finance, private equity, mergers and acquisitions, and disputes.
