King & Spalding has appointed Julie Chapuy as a partner in its Paris office, continuing to expand its International Disputes practice. Chapuy joins from Freshfields and becomes the 10th International Disputes partner, and the second in Paris, to join the firm in recent months.
Chapuy focuses on complex, high-value commercial litigation, particularly disputes involving financial institutions, corporate transactions, and shareholder relationships. Her practice includes litigation arising from banking and capital markets matters, shareholder conflicts, and post-acquisition disputes.
She also advises clients on cartel damages and other follow-on claims, settlement strategy, and enforcement proceedings.
Her addition expands King & Spalding’s ability to represent clients in disputes arising from corporate and financial transactions, particularly those involving multiple parties, complex commercial arrangements, and cross-border considerations.
The appointment also creates opportunities for collaboration between the firm’s International Disputes practice and its corporate, mergers and acquisitions, corporate governance, and white-collar teams.
Chapuy’s arrival follows the addition of Thomas Voisin, who also joined King & Spalding’s Paris disputes practice in September.
The two appointments are part of a broader expansion that includes the recruitment of an eight-partner international disputes team from WilmerHale, led by international arbitration lawyer Gary Born.
That team spans the firm’s London, New York, and Washington, D.C., offices. In addition to Born, its members include Charlie Caher, Steven Finizio, Rachael Kent, Marleen Krueger, Jonathan Lim, Danielle Morris, and Franz Schwarz.
The additions strengthen King & Spalding’s international litigation and arbitration capabilities across several major financial and legal markets.
For its Paris office, Chapuy’s experience in French commercial litigation adds expertise in disputes involving financial services, shareholder rights, and transactions.
These matters can intersect with other legal disciplines, including corporate advisory, regulatory investigations, and cross-border deal execution.

Chapuy brings an educational background in both management and law. She earned a master’s degree in management from EDHEC Business School and a master’s degree in business and tax law from Université de Nancy.
Her appointment reflects King & Spalding’s continued investment in its International Disputes practice as it expands its team across Europe and the United States.
