Kirkland & Ellis has added Prerak “Pre” Shah as a partner, strengthening its litigation capabilities involving state attorneys general investigations, enforcement actions and other complex disputes.
Shah advises companies and executives facing investigations, enforcement proceedings and high-stakes litigation involving state attorneys general.
His practice also encompasses federal, congressional and internal investigations along with complex civil litigation.
Shah brings extensive government experience across both state and federal roles.
He previously served as Senior Counsel to the Attorney General of Texas, Chief of Staff and Chief Counsel to U.S. Senator Ted Cruz, and Acting U.S. Attorney for the Northern District of Texas.
Shah joins Kirkland from Gibson Dunn, where he founded and co-chaired the firm’s State Attorneys General Practice Group.
His arrival is part of Kirkland’s continued expansion of its litigation practice, including its Texas presence.
