Kirkland & Ellis announced that debt finance attorney Adam Griffin has joined the firm as a partner, adding senior experience in energy and infrastructure financing to its platform.
Firm Chairman Jon A. Ballis said Griffin brings a track record across complex U.S. domestic and international financing transactions tied to energy and infrastructure assets, and will deepen Kirkland’s infrastructure finance bench.
Griffin’s practice spans renewable and conventional energy project financings, structured equity and tax equity investments, and commodities transactions. He advises sponsors, lenders, financial institutions and private equity investors on debt and equity financings, along with workouts and restructurings across the broader energy and infrastructure landscape.
Kirkland noted Griffin’s industry recognition, including rankings in Chambers USA and Chambers Global for Nationwide Projects: Renewables & Alternative Energy in 2025, and recognition by The Legal 500 U.S. across project finance and energy transaction categories. Griffin joins Kirkland from Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe LLP, where he was a partner.
Kirkland also pointed to the scale of its energy and infrastructure group, which includes approximately 500 lawyers across major markets, including Texas, London, New York, Riyadh, San Francisco, and Washington, D.C. The firm said the group supports clients across the full asset lifecycle and covers a wide range of practices, including corporate M&A, private equity, capital markets, fund formation, debt and project finance, restructuring, litigation, tax, environmental, real estate, and energy regulatory work.
