Kirkland & Ellis Names Jonathan Macke As Tax Partner

Kirkland & Ellis announced that Jonathan Macke has joined the firm as a partner in its Tax Practice Group, adding an experienced transactional tax lawyer to a team that supports complex deals and private investment funds work.

Macke advises on the tax aspects of corporate transactions, including domestic and cross-border mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, and financing transactions. He also advises on transactions involving partnerships and other pass-through entities and represents sponsor and investor clients on private investment fund matters.

Before joining Kirkland, Macke was a partner at Weil, Gotshal & Manges, where he served as co-managing partner of the firm’s Dallas office. And he has been recognized by a range of legal rankings and publications.

Kirkland said its tax practice is known for advising on multinational tax issues and transactions and representing clients in complex tax disputes. The firm added that its tax lawyers work across public company matters and a broad range of private equity and sponsor-initiated transactions.
