Kirkland & Ellis announced that leading private equity real estate attorney Yaman Shukairy has rejoined the firm as a partner.
Shukairy returns to Kirkland from global alternative asset manager TPG, where he has been general counsel for TPG Real Estate Partners (TREP), the firm’s real estate equity investment fund series, for the last nine years. In that role, he worked on all legal aspects of TREP’s investment activities in North America and Europe. Shukairy also provided support to portfolio companies and management teams. Before joining TPG in 2014, Shukairy was an M&A/private equity partner at Kirkland.
Earlier in his career, Shukairy held analyst roles with Balyasny Asset Management and Merrill Lynch. And he earned his law and undergraduate degrees from the University of Michigan.
Kirkland’s Real Estate Practice Group comprises of experienced and multidisciplinary lawyers who apply their high-level real estate knowledge to a wide range of complex business transactions.
