KKR To Acquire Medicover India And Its 24-Hospital Network

KKR has signed definitive agreements to acquire Medicover India, the Indian hospital operations of international healthcare and diagnostics company Medicover AB. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Established in 2017, Medicover India operates 24 hospitals with approximately 4,800 beds across South and West India.

The network provides care across more than 80 clinical specialties and is supported by more than 1,900 doctors. Medicover India serves millions of patients annually.

KKR plans to support the hospital operator’s next phase of growth by investing in talent, technology, infrastructure and clinical capabilities.

The investment firm said it also intends to support stronger clinical governance and operating standards while helping Medicover India broaden access to advanced healthcare services.

KKR has invested more than $20 billion globally across healthcare since 2004.

Its investments in India have included healthcare delivery, medical technology and related services.

The acquisition remains subject to required regulatory approvals.
