K&L Gates has added a six-partner team from Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman, significantly expanding its Corporate, Intellectual Property, Litigation and Labor and Employment practices across San Francisco, Palo Alto and Houston.
The new partners are Theresa Lee, Jenny Liu, Alekzandir “Zandir” Morton, Julie Park, David Tsai and Ziyan “Frank” Xue. Their practices span corporate transactions, capital markets, M&A, venture financing, cross-border investments, intellectual property and complex litigation.
Lee advises on corporate reorganizations, M&A, venture capital, governance and global integrations, with clients across AI, data centers, technology, life sciences and financial services.
Liu focuses heavily on U.S.-China transactions, including debt and equity financings, M&A and cross-border corporate matters. She previously co-led Pillsbury’s Greater China practice.
Morton handles intellectual property, employment and commercial litigation. Park advises on IPOs, follow-on offerings, private placements, securities compliance, M&A and venture capital transactions.
Tsai is a first-chair IP and commercial trial lawyer representing semiconductor, AI, technology, life sciences and healthcare companies. He also advises on patent licensing and portfolio strategy and previously co-led Pillsbury’s Taiwan practice.
Xue, who joins in Houston, focuses on M&A, foreign direct investment, private equity, venture capital, corporate structuring and U.S. market-entry matters, particularly involving companies operating between the United States and Asia.
The additions strengthen K&L Gates’ ability to serve businesses operating between California, Texas and major Asia-Pacific markets, particularly Korea, China and Taiwan.
