K&L Gates announced it has hired Tanya Denning as a partner in the Energy, Infrastructure, and Resources practice. She joined the firm’s Brisbane office from Baker McKenzie, where she was the Brisbane office managing partner and co-head of the Australian Energy team.
For 20+ years, Denning has advised key industry participants on headline energy and resources M&A deals and projects across the region, specifically assisting those investing, developing, and operating in energy generation, supply, offtake, storage, and transport. And she is well known for providing end-to-end advice on the full value chain of power (including renewable and conventional generation, networks, retail, metering, and storage), oil and gas (including LNG, CCS/CCUS, and diesel), energy transition, hydrogen, and mining projects. Plus, Denning has longstanding relationships with energy market regulators and regularly assists clients with compliance-related issues and investigations.
Along with Denning, the firm’s Australian offices recently welcomed Energy partner Matthew Osborne in April, and Corporate partners Carl Hinze, Divesh Patel, Khilen Devani, and Luke Paterson; Finance partner Rob White; Intellectual Property partners Rachelle Downie and Sally Foreman; and Real Estate partner Simon Moen over the last year.
K&L Gates’ Energy practice assists clients involved in the many aspects of the global energy, infrastructure, and resources space through a variety of legal disciplines, including project development, finance, construction, energy and environmental regulation, government contracting, public policy, cross-border investment, acquisitions, and dispute resolution.
