Koch Equity Development (KED), the principal investment and acquisition arm of Koch, has formally announced its acquisition of GCH Technologies, a company specializing in the development of advanced telecommunications solutions. Established by renowned industry experts George Cray and Cliff Holsenbeck, GCH has earned a reputation for its innovative approach to wireless messaging and infrastructure.

Under the new partnership, GCH will become the strategic provider for Common Short Code Registry Services, starting January 1, 2026.

This deal marks a significant evolution for wireless communications in the United States, as GCH collaborates closely with CTIA—the leading association representing the U.S. mobile ecosystem—to support the ongoing advancement and modernization of messaging platforms.

GCH’s objectives extend beyond registry management; the company is poised to spearhead infrastructure upgrades designed to enhance the resilience, speed, and scalability of wireless messaging. These efforts will encompass the integration of cutting-edge technologies such as RCS Rich Business Messaging, which enables brands to deliver interactive and media-rich communications directly to consumers, as well as other emerging platforms that facilitate rapid innovation within the mobile sector.

With the backing and resources of KED, GCH is well-positioned to accelerate the rollout of next-generation messaging solutions, respond swiftly to industry demands, and empower wireless providers nationwide to leverage new opportunities for growth and technological advancement.
