Komar Industries, a designer and manufacturer of waste and recycling processing solutions, announced it has acquired Metro Compactor Service, BaleForce Recycling Equipment Inc., and Chute Source LLC, collectively referred to as Metro. The transaction unites the companies’ geographic footprints across the United States and Canada to create a cross-border provider of end-to-end waste and recycling solutions.

The combined organization brings together Komar’s equipment manufacturing and service strength in the United States with Metro’s established OEM presence and service leadership in Canada. Metro’s portfolio includes compactors, balers, chute systems, and related equipment, along with aftermarket service, parts, rentals, and its IoT-enabled iSMART Technology™ monitoring platform.

By integrating Metro’s offerings, Komar expands its ability to support customers throughout the full lifecycle of their waste and recycling operations. The combined company will operate what it describes as the largest network of in-house service technicians in North America and expects to perform more than 90,000 service calls annually. The platform will deliver a broad equipment portfolio, responsive service, and technology-enabled solutions designed to improve uptime, extend asset life, and reduce total cost of ownership.

Komar’s product lineup includes auger, stationary, self-contained, and vertical compactors; vertical and horizontal balers; industrial shredders; continuous feed systems; dewatering systems; flatteners; and organic separation presses. The company serves customers processing wood, corrugate, e-waste, organics, plastics, mixed waste, and other waste streams, with a focus on reducing carbon footprint, labor, maintenance, transportation, and energy costs.

Metro provides waste and recycling equipment solutions across North America, emphasizing proactive service and industrial IoT-enabled monitoring through its iSMART Technology™ platform.
