Konko AI has raised $6 million in funding led by Hi Ventures, with participation from LifeX Ventures, SquareOne Capital, GroundUp Ventures, Phoenix Fund and angel investors from Harvard, MIT, Google and Tesla.
The New York-based company plans to use the funding to accelerate product development and expand across Latin America as it builds an AI platform designed to automate patient journeys and give healthcare professionals more time for patient care.
Konko AI has already managed more than 2 million patient interactions across 90 healthcare institutions and 60 medical specialties in Mexico, Colombia and Costa Rica.
The company said approximately 75% of those interactions are handled end-to-end by AI.
Konko AI was founded by CEO Jean-Marc Goguikian and Harvard classmate Michael Haddad. The idea emerged after Goguikian saw the administrative workload faced by his wife, Dr. Juliana Vallejo, and sought to develop technology that could reduce the amount of time healthcare professionals spend on non-clinical tasks.
The company initially launched in Costa Rica, with its first deployment at the clinic Goguikian founded with Vallejo, before expanding into Mexico and Colombia.
Konko AI began as an AI system focused on appointment scheduling but has evolved into a broader medical-grade platform that automates patient interactions from initial contact through follow-up.
The company said healthcare organizations using its technology have experienced up to 30% revenue growth, more than 50% higher productivity and increases of up to 30% in patient Net Promoter Score.
As the platform automates workflows, it also consolidates patient information into a continuous and interoperable record intended to provide healthcare teams with a more complete view of each patient’s journey.
Konko AI’s Front Office capability autonomously manages patient messages, triage and scheduling across languages. Its Reactivate product proactively contacts patients to close referral loops and recover missed appointments.
The company’s Unify capability consolidates patient context into an interoperable record, while Analyze provides real-time analytics and agentic evaluation designed to assess patient needs.
Konko AI plans to continue expanding the platform across Latin America while pursuing its broader mission of making personalized healthcare more accessible across the Global South.
