KPMG announced a global alliance with Anthropic to integrate Claude across its core business operations and workforce of more than 276,000 employees worldwide. The initiative will embed Claude into KPMG’s Digital Gateway platform, which is used by the firm’s professionals and clients for tax, legal, advisory, and other business services across 138 countries and territories.
As part of the agreement, KPMG employees globally will gain access to Claude, expanding on AI adoption efforts that have already been underway within KPMG US over the past two years. The alliance also names KPMG as a preferred partner for private equity, with the two companies planning to jointly develop Claude-powered products and services for portfolio companies.
KPMG said the integration is designed to help modernize workflows, improve productivity, and support AI-driven transformation across client engagements and internal business functions. The company emphasized that the deployment will operate under its Trusted AI framework, with a focus on governance, security, and responsible AI implementation.
KPMG said every employee across the organization will receive access to Claude as the rollout expands globally. The firms also plan to collaborate with clients on new AI offerings and broader modernization efforts designed to improve business functions and solve increasingly complex operational challenges.
One of the initial focus areas is cybersecurity, where KPMG and Anthropic teams will use Claude to identify and remediate vulnerabilities in critical systems.
Claude will be integrated into KPMG’s Digital Gateway platform, which is built on Microsoft Azure infrastructure and serves as the firm’s primary platform for client work, proprietary tools, and AI-enabled workflows.
KPMG said the integration of Claude Cowork and Managed Agents into Digital Gateway will allow professionals and clients to build AI capabilities directly within the platform, reducing the need to switch between multiple systems and dramatically shortening deployment timelines.
The alliance also expands into private equity, where KPMG becomes a preferred consultant for deploying Claude and Anthropic agents within PE portfolio companies. KPMG said it has developed a new suite of PE-focused offerings, including KPMG Blaze, which can integrate Claude Code to help organizations modernize legacy IT systems and accelerate AI-enabled software development.
The companies also highlighted joint research conducted by KPMG and the McCombs School of Business at UT Austin, examining how organizations can maximize value from AI deployments through effective human oversight and decision-making.
KEY QUOTES:
“At KPMG, we’re innovating and redefining how work gets done. This global alliance with Anthropic reflects our shared commitment to responsible AI, prioritizing security, trust, and governance as KPMG firms scale these capabilities to our clients and people around the world.”
Bill Thomas, Global Chairman and CEO, KPMG International
“KPMG works in industries where accuracy, accountability, and trust aren’t optional, and they’re applying the same standard to AI. They’re rolling Claude out to 276,000 people across the business, and using it for client work in tax and private equity. They’re also bringing it into cybersecurity, where it helps find and fix vulnerabilities. That’s what a firm-wide commitment to AI looks like, and we’re proud to be the partner they chose.”
Daniela Amodei, Co-founder and President, Anthropic
“Our clients depend on us where accuracy, judgment, and knowledge matter most. AI is changing how we deliver, trust and innovation are the core of this new offering and we’re proud to partner with Anthropic to deliver incredible value to our clients and our people. It’s one of the most important things we’ll do.”
Tim Walsh, Chair and CEO, KPMG US
“Building an AI agent to help clients adjust to changing tax regulations used to take weeks and required teams to switch between multiple tools and chat windows. With Cowork and Managed Agents integrated in Digital Gateway, that same capability takes minutes. This is a totally different way of working.”
Rema Serafi, Vice Chair, Tax, KPMG US
“Organizations often talk about keeping a ‘human in the loop’ when using AI, but KPMG and UT Austin’s research helps clarify what that human should be doing. We find that the greatest value comes not just from technical adoption, but from the ways employees exercise judgment, shape workflows, interface with the technology, evaluate its outputs, and make decisions with AI. As these tools become more embedded in consequential work, responsible deployment will require both capable technology and a much clearer understanding of the human role in creating value.”
Ethan Burris, Senior Associate Dean for Academic Affairs, McCombs School of Business at UT Austin
