KPS Capital Partners To Sell Aluminum Extrusion Manufacturer Metra To Grupa Kęty For €645 Million

KPS Capital Partners has agreed to sell portfolio company Metra to Polish industrial group Grupa Kęty for €645 million, concluding a roughly five-year ownership period in which KPS expanded the aluminum extrusion manufacturer through acquisitions, capacity investments and entry into new markets.

The transaction is expected to close during the first quarter of 2027, subject to customary approvals and closing conditions.

Metra is a vertically integrated manufacturer of extruded aluminum profiles and provides related value-added services including painting, oxidation, machining, welding and assembly.

Its products are used primarily across rail, industrial, building and construction markets in Europe and North America.

The company is headquartered in Rodengo Saiano, Italy, and operates nine manufacturing facilities globally with approximately 1,400 employees.

KPS acquired Metra in July 2021.

During its ownership, KPS and management pursued both organic expansion and acquisitions, with a particular focus on rail, energy distribution and building and construction markets.

Metra completed five add-on acquisitions under KPS ownership.

The business also invested in new extrusion presses, additional value-added service capabilities and manufacturing capacity.

KPS said those initiatives helped transform Metra into a broader global aluminum extrusion solutions provider.

The buyer, Warsaw-listed Grupa Kęty, operates across aluminum extrusion, architectural and sun protection systems and flexible packaging.

The combination is expected to provide Metra with additional scale, technical capabilities, value-added services and a broader international footprint.

BofA Securities and Barclays Capital served as financial advisors to KPS and Metra, while Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison served as legal counsel.
