Kyushu Electric Power is moving forward with a strategic investment in ProLogium, expanding an existing industrial partnership between the companies into a capital relationship focused on next-generation battery technology, energy applications and commercialization.
The investment deepens a long-term partnership that already spans next-generation batteries, energy, industrial applications and potential commercialization opportunities. Financial terms of the investment were not disclosed.
Kyushu Electric Power and ProLogium are also exploring the establishment of next-generation battery module manufacturing capabilities in Japan, combining ProLogium’s battery cell technology with local industrial resources and manufacturing expertise.
Their work includes potential applications for construction machinery and other electrification uses in demanding operating environments where factors such as safety, environmental resilience and performance are particularly important.
ProLogium views Japan as an important market for bringing advanced battery technologies from technical validation into commercial deployment because of the country’s established ecosystem spanning energy, automotive manufacturing, materials and advanced industrial production.
The company is seeking to combine its technology development capabilities in Taiwan with Japan’s manufacturing expertise and industrial ecosystem to accelerate the commercialization of next-generation batteries.
ProLogium develops and manufactures next-generation lithium ceramic batteries and holds more than 1,200 patents and pending patent applications globally.
The company began commercializing solid-state battery technology in 2013 and has since delivered more than 2.4 million battery cells to partners and customers, along with approximately 10,000 automotive battery samples.
In 2025, ProLogium introduced its Superfluidized Inorganic Next-Generation Lithium Ceramic Battery, which combines characteristics of solid-state and liquid battery technologies with the goal of improving manufacturability and cost competitiveness.
Its Taoke Gigafactory in Taiwan is the company’s first GWh-scale production facility and features a commercially demonstrated mass-production line for next-generation lithium ceramic batteries.
ProLogium is also expanding in Europe. Its second battery gigafactory in Dunkirk, France, began first-phase construction in February 2026. The initial phase is designed to reach 4 GWh of annual production capacity by 2030, while the site has a maximum planned capacity of up to 44 GWh.
The company is separately pursuing a U.S. public listing through a business combination with Translational Development Acquisition Corp. If completed, ProLogium is expected to trade on Nasdaq under the proposed ticker PRLG.
