L.B. Foster Company announced the promotion of three executives to senior leadership roles, with the appointments becoming effective on June 1, 2026.
William M. Thalman, who currently serves as executive vice president and chief financial officer, will transition into the role of executive vice president and chief operating officer. Thalman has served as CFO since June 2023 after previously holding the senior vice president and CFO position beginning in February 2021.
Sean M. Reilly, currently the company’s controller and principal accounting officer, has been promoted to senior vice president and chief financial officer. Reilly has held his current role since January 2022.
Timothy J. Curran, vice president of tax and treasury, will become controller and principal accounting officer. Curran has served in his current position since January 2022 and originally joined the company in 2013.
Prior to joining L.B. Foster, Thalman spent nearly two decades at Kennametal Inc. between 2004 and 2021, where he held multiple finance and operations leadership roles. He also worked at Wesco Inc. and The Carbide/Graphite Group Inc..
Reilly also previously worked at Kennametal Inc. from 2002 to 2004 and again from 2007 to 2022, most recently serving as vice president of finance for the Metal Cutting Division. Earlier in his career, he held roles at Tollgrade Communications Inc. and PricewaterhouseCoopers.
Curran joined L.B. Foster in 2013 as director of tax and compliance before being promoted in 2022. Prior to that, he spent a decade at KPMG working within the firm’s Mergers & Acquisitions Tax practice.
