La Caisse has awarded a $75 million investment mandate to AlphaFixe Capital, expanding its relationship with Québec-based asset managers while adding exposure to an alternative credit strategy intended to generate more stable returns across market cycles.
AlphaFixe is an independent fixed-income investment manager with more than $20 billion in assets under management.
La Caisse’s investment will be directed to AlphaFixe’s alternative credit strategy.
The strategy is designed to generate positive returns that are less dependent on movements in conventional equity and bond markets while limiting periods of negative performance, potentially providing additional portfolio diversification during periods of heightened volatility.
The mandate also reflects La Caisse’s broader effort to support and use specialized investment expertise within Québec.
La Caisse manages capital on behalf of 48 depositors representing more than 6 million Quebecers and held C$552 billion in net assets as of June 30, 2026. Its investments span public markets, private equity, infrastructure, real estate and private credit.
AlphaFixe was founded in 2008 and is wholly owned by its employees. The firm primarily serves institutional investors through fixed-income strategies that integrate environmental, social and governance considerations into investment decisions.
