Lassen Peak: Over $10 Million Raised To Bring Handheld Concealed-Weapons Detection Radar To Market

Lassen Peak announced it has completed a mix of debt and equity financings totaling more than $10 million to fund completion and market introduction of what it describes as the world’s first fully integrated handheld radar system for concealed weapon detection.

The Seattle-area startup said the financing was led by Structural Capital, a Menlo Park-based venture and private credit firm, and included venture debt from Structural Capital alongside additional capital from existing shareholders. Lassen Peak also cited participation from investors including AI Capital Partners, Lauder Partners, LionCrest Ventures, Madrona Ventures, Octave Ventures, and other strategic investors, including Axon Enterprises.

Lassen Peak said its product is designed to enable concealed-weapon detection in the field for law enforcement, military, and private venue security use cases. The company is developing a handheld system built around submillimeter-wave terahertz imaging radar technology, positioning it as a safer alternative to physical weapon searches and pat-downs, which it said can be dangerous and can escalate already tense encounters.

The company said it has assembled a team spanning ultra-high-speed wireless, imaging radar, artificial intelligence, and geo-positioning, and it highlighted an advisor and committee group that includes former leaders from law enforcement and civil rights organizations.
