Latham & Watkins recently welcomed Adam Greenfield back to its Washington, D.C. office, appointing him as a partner in the firm’s Intellectual Property Litigation Practice. Greenfield, a seasoned first-chair trial lawyer, is recognized for his expertise in patent and trade secret litigation, especially those involving the most advanced sectors of technology.
Throughout his career, Greenfield has achieved significant victories for clients engaged in cutting-edge intellectual property disputes. His practice is distinguished by its breadth, representing both domestic and international companies across a spectrum of industries such as AI, automotive, defense, energy, financial services, manufacturing, medical devices, and high technology. Greenfield’s litigation experience extends across federal district and appellate courts, the International Trade Commission (ITC), and the Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB). In addition, he has handled matters with complex cross-border implications, further showcasing his versatility and deep understanding of the global technology landscape.
Before rejoining Latham & Watkins, Greenfield was a partner at White & Case, where he continued to build his reputation as a formidable advocate in technology-related intellectual property matters. Earlier in his career, he served as a law clerk to Judge Kimberly Moore of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit, an experience that provided him with invaluable insight into appellate issues and federal intellectual property law. Greenfield’s professional involvement also includes membership in the Federal Circuit Bar Association, where he was recognized as a Global Fellow.
Greenfield earned his Juris Doctor from the University of Illinois College of Law and holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Illinois.
