Latham: Mohammed Shaheen Rejoins Chicago Office As Partner In Banking & Private Credit Practice

Latham & Watkins announced it has welcomed back Mohammed Shaheen as a partner in its Chicago office, where he will contribute to the firm’s Banking & Private Credit Practice. Shaheen brings a wealth of experience in representing banks and private credit funds in a wide range of complex financial transactions. His work includes advising on credit facilities, leveraged buyouts, acquisition financing, and corporate restructurings.

Throughout his career, Shaheen has worked extensively with lenders in both syndicated and private credit markets. He has guided clients through financial restructurings across multiple industries, helping them navigate challenging situations with tailored legal strategies. His practice is centered on structuring and negotiating senior credit facilities, which include acquisition financing, asset-based lending, bridge loans, cross-border transactions, and multi-currency arrangements.

Before rejoining Latham & Watkins, Shaheen was involved in academic work at Stanford University, focusing on education and research. He previously served as a partner in the same practice group at Latham from 2014 to 2019, building a strong foundation in financial law and client service. He holds a Juris Doctor degree from Harvard Law School and earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Chicago.
