Latham & Watkins Adds Ahmed ElDessouki As IP Litigation Partner In New York

Latham & Watkins announced that Ahmed ElDessouki has joined the firm’s New York office as a partner in its Intellectual Property Litigation Practice.

ElDessouki focuses on patent litigation, technical trade secret disputes, and software copyright litigation involving technologies such as semiconductors, AI computing, consumer electronics, enterprise software, payments technologies, LEDs, data storage, and wireless communications.

He represents clients in high-stakes intellectual property disputes in federal courts, before the International Trade Commission, and in proceedings before the Patent Trial and Appeal Board.

ElDessouki’s experience includes both offensive and defensive patent litigation, along with complex trade secret matters involving highly technical products and systems.

His arrival expands Latham’s IP litigation capabilities in New York and follows several recent additions to the firm’s practice, including Kieran Kieckhefer, David Shaw, and Adam Greenfield.

Before joining Latham, ElDessouki was with Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher in New York.

He earned his JD from the University of Toronto and a Bachelor of Engineering from McGill University. Before attending law school, ElDessouki worked as a hardware engineer at a mobile technology company, giving him a technical background that complements his litigation practice.
