Latham & Watkins has announced that Marco Caffuzzi has joined the firm’s New York office as a partner in its Real Estate Practice. Caffuzzi brings nearly three decades of experience advising on complex real estate transactions across domestic and cross-border markets, joining from Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom. He received his JD from New York Law School and his BA from New York University.

Caffuzzi represents a broad range of clients, including commercial banks, institutional lenders, foreign investors, private capital providers, sponsors, family offices, corporate clients, and public sector entities. His practice covers the full spectrum of real estate transactions, with particular strength in sophisticated financings, restructurings, joint ventures, acquisitions and dispositions, and large-scale development and infrastructure projects. He regularly advises on both lender and borrower sides of financing transactions and on loan workouts and restructurings, with a focus on bespoke, highly structured transactions requiring close coordination across corporate, finance, and restructuring disciplines.

The addition comes as Latham said it continues building what it describes as the preeminent real estate practice in New York and globally. Global Chair of Latham’s Real Estate Practice Douglas Heitner noted a personal connection to the hire, having worked as Caffuzzi’s associate 15 years ago.
