Latham & Watkins has added Ryan Plasky as a partner in its Banking & Private Credit Practice in Washington, D.C., strengthening the firm’s fund finance capabilities as private capital managers increasingly use more complex financing structures.
Plasky advises private equity sponsors, asset managers, investment banks, hedge funds, REITs and public and private companies on leveraged financing transactions, with a particular focus on fund finance and related asset-based financing.
His experience includes subscription facilities, net asset value financings, hybrid facilities, rated note feeders, real estate fund financings and other leveraged capital solutions.
Fund finance has expanded beyond traditional subscription credit lines as sponsors seek additional tools to manage liquidity, support portfolio companies, finance distributions and optimize fund-level capital structures.
NAV facilities and hybrid structures can provide financing based on the underlying value of portfolio assets rather than relying exclusively on limited-partner commitments.
Plasky’s addition expands Latham’s Capital Strategies platform, which brings together financing capabilities across private capital markets.
The firm sees continued innovation in fund finance as alternative asset managers develop increasingly sophisticated liquidity and capital-management tools.
Plasky joins Latham from Fried Frank.
He earned his bachelor’s degree magna cum laude from Cornell University and his law degree from the University of Pennsylvania Carey Law School.
