LawVu has launched Lens, a new artificial intelligence contract analysis tool designed to give in-house legal teams visibility across their entire contract portfolio and identify risks, obligations and commercial opportunities before they become problems.
Lens is embedded directly within LawVu LegalOS, the company’s operating system for corporate legal departments.
Rather than focusing primarily on drafting or reviewing an individual agreement, Lens is designed to analyze a company’s complete contract repository at once.
The system uses obligation frameworks developed by legal experts to convert contract language spread across multiple documents into a structured and searchable view.
In-house legal teams can ask questions about their contracts in plain language and receive responses grounded in their organization’s own agreements.
The system also provides citations back to the underlying source documents, allowing users to review the contractual language supporting each answer.
LawVu is positioning Lens as a way for legal departments to move beyond contract storage and individual document review toward portfolio-level intelligence.
One potential application involves revenue protection.
Lens can identify customer agreements approaching renewal with unfavorable terms and flag missed service levels that could trigger credits, refunds or termination rights.
The platform can also support merger and acquisition due diligence and audit preparation by identifying agreements containing change-of-control provisions, consent requirements, termination rights or other obligations that could become relevant during a transaction.
For incident and regulatory response, Lens can analyze contracts to determine which customer commitments may be affected by events such as a port closure, data breach or change in law.
The system can then identify contractual situations where delays or non-compliance could create exposure to damages, penalties or termination.
LawVu also sees an opportunity to reduce outside counsel expenses.
Legal departments can use Lens to extract relevant provisions from hundreds of contracts into a structured table, allowing outside counsel to focus on exceptions and higher-risk agreements rather than manually reviewing every document.
Lens builds on LawVu’s June 2026 launch of LegalOS, which brought AI-powered intake, drafting and workflow automation into a connected platform for in-house legal teams.
The company has continued adding AI capabilities since the launch, with Lens extending those functions into broader contract portfolio analysis.
LawVu said the product was built on the same security and trust framework used across LegalOS.
The platform maintains ISO 27001, SOC 1 and SOC 2 certifications and supports compliance requirements associated with GDPR, CCPA and HIPAA.
LawVu is also aligned with ISO 42001 for artificial intelligence management systems.
The company said customer data remains owned by the customer and is not used to train LawVu’s AI models.
Lens is available immediately as an add-on for existing LawVu LegalOS customers.
LawVu’s broader platform brings together legal intake, matters, contracts, spend management, documents and AI agents within a single system.
The company serves hundreds of in-house legal teams across more than 30 countries, with customers including Discord, Etsy, Employment Hero, The Pokémon Company and Estée Lauder.
KEY QUOTES:
“Most AI tools in legal only see a small piece of the picture, so they overlook important details or need a human to double-check their work. Lens is different because it works with the structured legal data each customer has built up inside their own LawVu LegalOS, so insights are grounded in their organization’s own work. It reasons across every contract instead of guessing from scratch. That’s what lets legal see around corners: catching problems before they happen, preventing bottlenecks and lost time or revenue.”
