Lazard has appointed Niul Wood as Managing Director, Industrials, bringing the veteran investment banker back to the firm to focus on Advanced Materials, Chemicals and Ingredients across EMEA. Wood will be based in London.
He brings more than 25 years of experience in cross-border strategic M&A and financing advisory, adding senior sector expertise to Lazard’s European Industrials franchise.
Wood rejoins Lazard from Nomura, where he served as Managing Director and Head of Industrials & Chemicals for EMEA.
He previously worked at Credit Suisse and Lazard, making the appointment a return to the firm.
His practice focuses on advising companies across advanced materials, chemicals and ingredients, industries facing significant strategic changes involving supply chains, technology, sustainability, capital requirements and portfolio transformation.
Lazard expects Wood’s sector experience and existing relationships with clients to complement its M&A, financing and broader strategic advisory capabilities across Europe.
The appointment represents another senior addition to Lazard’s Financial Advisory business as the firm expands sector-focused investment banking capabilities across the region.
Lazard provides advice across mergers and acquisitions, capital markets and capital solutions, restructuring and liability management, geopolitics and other strategic matters.
The firm operates across North and South America, Europe, the Middle East, Asia and Australia.
