Le Walk, a transformative app that offers immersive, location-based guided experiences, has officially launched to the public after successfully raising $4.1 million in seed funding. This funding round was co-led by Adverb Ventures and Lerer Hippeau, with additional support from Origins Fund and Point72 Ventures.
During its beta phase, Le Walk attracted significant attention, racking up 110,000 downloads, more than 160,000 followers on social media, and over 20,000 guided tours taken by eager users. Now, the app is branching out from its initial offerings in Paris to new destinations including Versailles, Florence, and Rome, with plans for expansion to Barcelona and London on the horizon. Users will benefit from tours available in 22 different languages, and the app features exciting partnerships with notable travel creators. Additionally, Le Walk introduces Lora, a helpful travel-planning chatbot. The new funding will enable the company to enhance its core features, establish partnerships with key institutions and attractions, and expand its service from five to over 25 destinations by the summer of 2026.
Using the app is straightforward and engaging. Users simply choose an experience, put on their headphones, and set their phones aside while Le Walk’s innovative location-aware guide takes charge. This allows them to fully immerse themselves in the journey without interruptions or distractions.
What sets Le Walk apart is its commitment to providing real, on-demand local guides. The app partners with knowledgeable local experts who create private audio walks that capture their insights, allowing users to enjoy their tours at their own pace, free from the crowds and the awkwardness of group outings.
Le Walk blends augmented reality with audio experiences without the need for headsets. By combining cinematic soundscapes, precise GPS narration, and captivating storytelling from acclaimed guides, the app transforms exploration into a first-person cinematic experience.
There is a wide variety of tours available to cater to diverse interests. For fashion enthusiasts, the “Haute & Historical” tour showcases how designers like Chanel and Dior found inspiration in their surroundings. Those interested in history can delve into the “Is Paris Burning?” excursion, which reveals the stories of the Nazi occupation and acts of resistance during that tumultuous time. Food lovers can explore Rue Montorgueil for delicious gluten-free pastries, award-winning coffee, and even traditional escargot. Additionally, fans of pop culture can join the “Emily’s Paris” tour to visit iconic locations featured in the hit Netflix series, with insights from creator Gabriella Hafner.
The brainchild of founders Aaron Sekhri, Stephen Boyle, and Anthony Privitelli, who previously worked together at TikTok, Le Walk aims to redefine how people travel, explore, and interact with the world around them. With its innovative approach to guided experiences, the app is sure to change the way we think about sightseeing and discovering new destinations.
