Leaf Home has announced the acquisition of Erie Home, bringing together two of the most prominent names in the direct-to-consumer home improvement space. This strategic move significantly expands Leaf’s footprint and capabilities, establishing the combined entity as the most extensive residential services and products provider of its kind across North America.
Both Leaf and Erie have been backed by Gridiron Capital, which has played an active role in supporting their growth since partnering with the founders of Leaf in 2016 and Erie in 2021. Gridiron will retain majority ownership of the newly combined company, which is poised to deliver enhanced value to homeowners through expanded offerings and national scale.
To support the transaction, Ares Management led a preferred equity investment in Leaf, with additional backing from Gridiron. Ares will continue as a strategic partner to Leaf’s board and leadership team. Apollo funds led the debt financing for the acquisition and recapitalization, with participation from Ares, further reinforcing the financial strength behind the deal.
The integration of Leaf and Erie creates a powerful platform that addresses a wide range of homeowner needs with speed, consistency, and quality. The combined company will operate through more than 300 field offices, supported by over 3,100 trained sales consultants and 2,400 licensed installers. Customers will benefit from streamlined operations powered by advanced technology, real-time financing options, and data-driven marketing—all designed to improve the experience from initial contact to final installation.
The leadership of the new organization will be headed by Jenilee Common, formerly CEO of Erie, who will now serve as CEO of the combined company. She will work alongside Rocco Mango, who will take on the role of President and Chief Operating Officer. Together, they will guide the company through its next phase of growth while continuing the legacy of operational excellence and customer-first service.
The expanded service portfolio includes metal and asphalt re-roofing, gutter protection and replacement, basement waterproofing and air quality solutions, water purification systems, bath remodeling and conversions, stair lift installations, and garage flooring enhancements. With operations now spanning 48 U.S. states and Canada, the company is well-positioned to meet the needs of homeowners from coast to coast.
Advisors: Financial advisors for the transaction included Goldman Sachs and BofA Securities for Leaf Home, with legal counsel provided by Ropes & Gray LLP. Erie Home was advised by Harris Williams, with legal support from Benesch Law. While financial terms were not disclosed, the scale and scope of the deal mark a transformative moment for both companies and the broader home services industry.
