Marwood Group has received a strategic investment from funds managed by Lee Equity Partners as the healthcare-focused advisory and consulting firm seeks to accelerate growth through acquisitions, senior hires and expansion of its capabilities. Financial terms were not disclosed.
Alongside the investment, Chris Librizzi has joined Marwood as Chief Executive Officer. Richard Jeanneret, a senior advisor to Lee Equity and longtime EY executive, has joined as Executive Chairman.
Librizzi joins from EY-Parthenon, where he spent the past five years leading its U.S. strategy consulting business. He previously built and led EY’s corporate strategy function and served on the firm’s U.S. Board and Executive Committee.
Jeanneret brings approximately 20 years of experience at EY, where he served as one of the firm’s longest-tenured board members, advised corporate boards, multinational companies and private equity firms, built businesses and helped execute M&A transactions.
Marwood President Walt Breakell, Chief Revenue Officer Lee Alvarez and Chief Product Officer Martin Sobel will remain with the company. Breakell will also continue serving on Marwood’s board.
Marwood plans to use its partnership with Lee Equity to expand its work with private equity firms throughout the transaction lifecycle, invest in employees and extend into additional client segments including hospitals, payors and life sciences companies.
