LegalOn Technologies, a leader in legal AI, announced the acquisition of Fides Technology, a governance AI company backed by Sequoia. This marks LegalOn’s first acquisition and significantly broadens its platform to cover governance, board, and entity management, enabling a single source of truth for contracts, matters, entities, and boards within enterprise legal departments.
The acquisition follows a year of rapid growth for LegalOn, coming just months after the company’s $50 million Series E funding round, the launch of its Matter Management solution, and its development collaboration with OpenAI. With the addition of Fides, LegalOn becomes the only AI platform offering a comprehensive legal operations suite that spans all key functions for in-house legal teams.
Founded in 2021, Fides has become a leading provider of governance, board management, and entity management software. Its platform helps multinational corporations and financial institutions such as Allianz Global Investors, Lime, and Sequoia digitize and automate key compliance and governance functions across more than 100 countries.
The Fides leadership team, including Lisa Gradow (CEO), Vincent Bobinski (CTO), and Philippa Peters (COO/CLO), will continue in their roles as the company integrates into LegalOn. The Munich-based team joins LegalOn’s existing global hubs in the United States and Japan, expanding the company’s operational footprint in Europe.
Fides will remain available as a standalone product while its technology is integrated into the LegalOn platform, enhancing its governance and compliance capabilities. Together, the two companies will enable corporate legal departments to manage contracts, matters, and governance seamlessly within a unified ecosystem designed to improve productivity, transparency, and oversight.
