Legalpad is a company that is focused on making the work-visa process easier and they offer guaranteed approval for employers, immigrants, and lawyers. Launched in 2018, Legalpad — a 2018 Techstars company with 15 employees — announced it raised $10 million in Series A funding led by Amplo.

And Legalpad demonstrated remarkable success for hundreds of employers, immigrants, and their lawyers since the company was founded in 2018. And the market need for a faster and transparent way to secure work visas is strong. Every year, there are millions of talented people pursuing work opportunities in the United States, but face an ambiguous and complex work visa process.

Even with these challenges, half of all unicorns have been built by immigrants in Silicon Valley where about 71% of tech employees are non-US born.

“Legalpad is undertaking an ambitious goal to redefine the complex and confusing work visa system so that global talent can easily match with opportunity,” said Sheel Tyle, founder and CEO of Amplo. “Amplo is thrilled to help launch Legalpad into its next phase of growth.”

Amplo led the $10 million round along with Global Founders Capital, 8VC, Liquid 2 Ventures, Tekton Ventures, Gaingels, Collate Capital, and several high-profile angel investors. And Legalpad will use the funding to continue to connect global talent with opportunity around the world.

Amplo board partner Alec Ross — formerly Senior Advisor to the Secretary of State and best-selling author of The Industries of the Future — will join Legalpad’s board of directors.
