Legrand Acquires Power Equipment Manufacturer Kratos Industries And Invests In Liquid Cooling Firm Accelsius

By Amit Chowdhry ● Feb 16, 2026

Legrand, a global specialist in electrical and digital building infrastructures, announced the acquisition of Kratos Industries and a strategic investment in Accelsius as part of an expanded push into AI-ready data center infrastructure.

The moves are designed to strengthen Legrand’s end-to-end power and thermal management portfolio as demand accelerates for high-density compute environments driven by artificial intelligence workloads.

Kratos, based in Arvada, Colorado, manufactures low-voltage switchboards, medium-voltage switchgear, and integrated power systems for data center gray space and industrial applications. The company is known for its vertically integrated production model and engineered-to-order approach, providing speed and scalability for mission-critical deployments.

With the acquisition, Legrand is expanding its critical power portfolio for the data center market. The addition of Kratos builds on Legrand’s existing gray space offerings, including cable bus, load banks, and cable tray systems, while complementing its white space power portfolio of busway, busduct, and rack power distribution unit solutions.

Rowan Koons will assume the role of Vice President and General Manager of the Kratos business unit within Legrand’s Data, Power, and Control division. The integration is expected to enhance Legrand’s ability to deliver a comprehensive power ecosystem to data center customers.

In parallel, Legrand is deepening its focus on advanced thermal management through participation in Accelsius’ Series B funding round. Accelsius is a pioneer in two-phase, direct-to-chip liquid cooling technology designed for gigawatt-scale AI facilities.

Through the partnership, Legrand and Accelsius will collaborate on joint development initiatives within the white space of data centers, including the integration of liquid cooling systems into rack infrastructure. As AI workloads increase rack densities, operators are increasingly turning to liquid cooling architectures to maintain performance, reliability, and energy efficiency.

Accelsius’ two-phase cooling technology removes heat directly at the processor level, enabling higher compute densities while lowering the energy required for thermal management. The collaboration positions Legrand to offer more advanced, integrated solutions spanning both power distribution and thermal control.

Legrand reported sales of €9.5 billion in 2025. The company is listed on Euronext Paris and is a component of the CAC 40, CAC 40 ESG, and CAC Transition Climat indexes.
