Leidos and Altaris completed their previously announced transaction to create a U.S.-based security screening joint venture operating under the Analogic brand.

The new company combines the security screening operations of Leidos Security Enterprise Solutions with Analogic’s existing technology, engineering, and manufacturing capabilities.

The transaction brings together two businesses focused on developing and deploying screening systems for airports, borders, and other high-security environments.

Analogic’s expanded platform will offer technologies spanning imaging, detection, automation, artificial intelligence, and power systems.

The company’s products are designed to support customers across aviation security, border security, critical infrastructure, healthcare, and industrial markets.

By combining the two businesses, Analogic will gain a broader technology portfolio and additional scale in global security screening.

The joint venture is expected to focus on developing next-generation screening systems that can improve threat detection, automate inspection processes, and support more efficient movement of people and goods.

Leidos will retain a significant minority ownership stake in the new company.

The structure allows Leidos to continue participating in the long-term growth of the security screening business while concentrating more directly on other strategic priorities across its broader technology and government services portfolio.

Leidos will also remain active across the aviation ecosystem outside of the joint venture.

The company continues to provide capabilities related to airport modernization, air traffic management, digital infrastructure, and other aviation technology programs.

For Analogic, the transaction expands its position in security screening while building on its existing expertise in advanced imaging and detection.

The company has historically developed technology for both security and healthcare applications, including systems that rely on sophisticated imaging, data processing, and automation.

The combined business will serve customers requiring high-performance inspection and screening technologies in environments where safety, reliability, and operational efficiency are critical.

The transaction also gives Analogic access to engineering and manufacturing resources that can support product development and deployment across international markets.

Leidos said the joint venture creates a more focused platform dedicated to security screening while allowing both organizations to bring together complementary technology and technical expertise.

The companies expect the combined platform to address evolving security requirements across transportation hubs, national borders, government facilities, and other critical infrastructure locations.

KEY QUOTES:
