LevelBlue Finalizes Acquisition Of Cybereason

By Amit Chowdhry ● Nov 30, 2025

LevelBlue announced the completion of its acquisition of Cybereason. This move significantly strengthens the company’s capabilities across managed detection and response, extended detection and response, incident response, and cybersecurity consulting. The acquisition builds on LevelBlue’s strategy to establish one of the most comprehensive and integrated security platforms in the global market by combining advanced technology, AI-powered threat detection, and expert human analysis.

As part of the transaction, SoftBank Corp., SoftBank Vision Fund 2, and Liberty Strategic Capital have taken equity stakes in LevelBlue. Steven T. Mnuchin, former U.S. Treasury Secretary and Managing Partner of Liberty Strategic Capital, has joined LevelBlue’s Board of Directors, adding additional leadership and strategic depth to the company’s long-term growth plans.

LevelBlue said the acquisition expands its reach across North America, Europe, and Asia, with especially strong growth potential in Japan, where Cybereason is recognized as one of the country’s leading cybersecurity providers. The combined organization is now positioned to offer enhanced services across multiple enterprise security domains.

The integration brings together Cybereason’s advanced extended detection and response technology with LevelBlue’s established managed detection and response services. This combination creates a deeper and more agile threat-detection system capable of reducing dwell time and improving the accuracy of response actions.

LevelBlue also gains increased scale in digital forensics and incident response. Cybereason’s DFIR offerings, combined with the recent acquisitions of Stroz Friedberg and Elysium Digital, enable LevelBlue to deliver broader global response coverage and provide technology-agnostic forensic expertise to enterprises, legal teams, and cyber insurance partners.

The acquisition strengthens LevelBlue’s threat intelligence capabilities by joining Cybereason’s research organization with LevelBlue SpiderLabs, enabling clients to benefit from more comprehensive insights into emerging threats and attack patterns.

The combined company will also apply enhanced AI capabilities that merge Cybereason’s AI technologies with LevelBlue’s proprietary agentic AI. LevelBlue said this integration increases the speed and accuracy of both detection and remediation while reducing false positives.

Clients using Microsoft, SentinelOne, or hybrid security stacks will be able to leverage LevelBlue’s expanded ability to optimize existing investments. Additionally, the new global footprint will enable the company to deliver more consistent, efficient security operations across regions.

This acquisition follows several recent transactions by LevelBlue, including those of Trustwave, Stroz Friedberg, and Elysium Digital. Together, these moves advance LevelBlue’s goal of becoming a complete and outcome-driven cybersecurity partner for organizations seeking end-to-end resilience.
