Lightbringer, an AI-powered patent platform built for deep tech companies, announced that it has raised $10 million in Series A funding to expand its platform and help more founders protect their inventions.
The funding round was co-led by 6 Degrees Capital and Newion, with participation from existing investors Luminar Ventures and Alliance VC. The new capital will support Lightbringer as it continues building technology that makes patent filing and management faster, more transparent, and easier for technical teams to navigate.
Lightbringer is focused on helping companies in complex technical fields manage intellectual property without relying solely on traditional legal processes that can be slow, expensive, and difficult for founders to predict. The company’s platform combines patent attorney expertise with AI-powered workflows, giving deep tech teams a more streamlined way to identify inventions, prepare filings, manage patent portfolios, and make informed IP decisions.
The company said the patent system has historically been designed around lawyers rather than founders. For startups developing advanced technologies, there can be barriers at the exact moment when protecting intellectual property is most important. Manual workflows, billable-hour pricing, unclear timelines, and unexpected invoices can make it harder for early-stage companies to build a defensible IP strategy.
Lightbringer aims to address those challenges by providing companies with a clearer, more efficient patent process. Its platform is designed to reduce administrative friction while still preserving the judgment and oversight of experienced patent attorneys. This hybrid approach allows companies to benefit from automation without removing the legal expertise required for high-quality patent work.
Today, more than 200 deep tech companies across 17 countries use Lightbringer to file and manage patents. The company’s customer base reflects growing demand from startups and technical teams that want to protect innovation while moving at the speed required to compete in fast-developing markets.
The Series A funding will help Lightbringer further develop its AI capabilities, expand its team, and broaden access to its platform for companies building in areas where intellectual property is central to long-term value creation. The company plans to continue improving how founders and technical teams collaborate with patent professionals throughout the entire patent lifecycle.
With this investment, Lightbringer is positioning itself as a more founder-friendly alternative to traditional patent workflows, especially for deep tech companies that need stronger IP protection but cannot afford inefficient processes or unpredictable costs.
