Linklaters announced the hiring of Mark Fairbairn as a Senior Consultant in the Asia Restructuring & Insolvency team. Fairbairn will be primarily based in Hong Kong SAR and brings with him significant experience garnered over three decades.
Fairbairn has a distinguished career in restructuring and insolvency, having managed key transactions and advisory roles in China and wider Asian markets. And his appointment further strengthens our prominent and well-established team, enhancing our capacity to provide world-class advisory services on complex distressed situations across Asia.
Fairbairn is currently recognized in the Senior Statespeople category by Chambers, where he maintained a position as a Band 1 practitioner for nearly two decades. Since February 2022, Fairbairn has been the sole practitioner of Fairbairn & Co. which led the complex, precedent setting and on-going liquidation of China Properties Group Limited, the unique winding-up proceedings of Kaisa Group Holdings Ltd in Hong Kong based on public securities governed by PRC law and certain aspects of the restructuring of Logan Property Group. Fairbairn will join Linklaters formally later in the year once customary regulatory matters have been completed by Fairbairn & Co.
