Linkup, a platform that enables AI products to search and retrieve real-time information from the web, has raised a $10 million seed round led by Gradient. The round included participation from Elaia, Leblon Capital, and Weekend Fund, alongside existing investors Seedcamp, Axeleo Capital, Motier Ventures, and OPRTRS CLUB. There was also support from angel investors, including Olivier Pomel of Datadog, Arthur Mensch of Mistral, Alex Bouaziz and Shuo Wang of Deel, and Florian Douetteau of Dataiku.
The company said it will use the funding to expand its team and further develop its product as demand grows from organizations building AI applications that require up-to-date, verifiable web information. Linkup positions its technology as core infrastructure for AI systems, arguing that many AI applications remain constrained by static training data that becomes outdated, limiting their ability to access reliable and relevant information. Linkup’s approach is designed to provide AI products with direct access to real-time web data, so responses are grounded in current information.
Linkup was founded by CEO Philippe Mizrahi, formerly of Lyft and Amundsen, COO Boris Toledano, formerly of McKinsey, and CTO Denis Charrier, who previously built one of Europe’s first vector search engines at Niland, which was acquired by Spotify. The company said it launched its API in late 2024 and has gained traction with hundreds of customers globally, including AI company Artisan and professional services firm KPMG. Linkup added that its platform supports use cases ranging from conversational AI and AI agents to database enrichment.
KEY QUOTES:
“Google Search revolutionized how humans access information on the internet over the past 20 years. We’re now building that same foundational capability for AI systems. Our technology extracts atoms of information from across the web to create a granular, precise index that’s natively adapted to how AI systems process and understand information. This funding will accelerate our ability to scale our infrastructure and meet the explosive demand we’re seeing from companies building AI products.”
Philippe Mizrahi, Founder And Chief Executive Officer, Linkup
“As AI systems become increasingly autonomous and make more independent decisions, it’s critical that these decisions are based on trusted, verifiable information. Linkup is building the essential infrastructure layer that ensures AI agents can search and access information in real-time. Their unique approach to indexing and their traction with major customers demonstrates they’re solving a fundamental need in the AI ecosystem.”
