EVS has appointed Christophe Piron as Chief Financial Officer on a permanent basis after he served as interim CFO since May 2026.
The Belgium-based company provides live video technology used across sports, entertainment, news and other broadcast and new media productions.
Piron’s permanent appointment follows a selection process during which he also became part of the EVS Leadership Team and contributed to strengthening the company’s financial discipline and performance management.
He brings more than 25 years of international experience across finance, strategy, transformation, mergers and acquisitions and general management.
That experience spans publicly traded companies, private equity-backed organizations and technology-focused businesses.
Before EVS, Piron served as CFO of Alcopa, where he oversaw the group’s financial management and supported strategic development and investment activities.
He subsequently held CEO positions at Bihr and Ecostal Group, giving him operating and general management experience in addition to traditional finance leadership.
Earlier in his career, Piron held roles at Ymagis, Boston Consulting Group and Bank Degroof Petercam.
His background includes corporate finance, M&A, capital markets, transformation programs, acquisitions and integrations, financing activities and performance improvement.
EVS believes that combination is well suited to the company’s next phase of expansion.
The company has experienced significant growth in recent years and is focusing on maintaining financial discipline while making investments intended to support continued profitable growth.
Piron will work with CEO Serge Van Herck, the Leadership Team and the Board on financial and operational performance, capital allocation and strategic decisions.
His experience as both a CFO and CEO also gives him a broader operating perspective as EVS evaluates growth opportunities.
EVS develops live production technology used by production teams to deliver sports, entertainment and breaking news content in real time.
Its technology covers multiple stages of the live production process.
The company has more than 800 employees and maintains offices across Australia, Asia, the Middle East, Europe, North America and Latin America.
EVS provides sales, technical support and training to customers across more than 100 countries and trades publicly on Euronext Brussels.
Piron’s appointment provides continuity at the CFO position while giving EVS a permanent financial leader who has already spent several months working with the company’s management team.
KEY QUOTES:
“We are very pleased that Christophe has accepted to become the CFO of EVS. When he joined us in May as interim CFO, the objective was first and foremost to ensure continuity while we conducted a thorough selection process for our future CFO. Over the past months, Christophe has demonstrated not only his strong financial expertise, but also his ability to rapidly understand our business, challenge us constructively, and contribute to the broader strategic discussions within our Leadership Team. As EVS prepares for its next phase of development, we were looking for a CFO who could combine strong financial discipline and capital markets expertise with strategic thinking, international experience and a strong understanding of business transformation. Christophe brings that combination, together with significant CFO, CEO and M&A experience. I am convinced that he will be a strong partner for me, our Leadership Team and our Board of Directors as we continue to execute our growth ambitions and create sustainable long-term value.”
