Lockheed Martin And Google Public Sector Collaborating To Bring GenAI To National Security Environments

By Amit Chowdhry ● Nov 1, 2025

Lockheed Martin and Google Public Sector have announced a new strategic collaboration to deploy Google’s advanced generative AI technologies, including its Gemini models, within Lockheed Martin’s secure AI Factory infrastructure. The partnership, unveiled during the Google Public Sector Summit 2025 in Washington, D.C., is designed to enhance mission-critical capabilities across aerospace, space exploration, and cybersecurity through on-premise and air-gapped AI deployment.

The phased rollout will begin with the integration of Google’s generative AI within Lockheed Martin’s unclassified on-premise environment using Google Distributed Cloud. This will provide Lockheed Martin employees secure access to Google’s AI tools, enabling rapid data-driven insights while maintaining the highest standards of national security and data governance. Future phases will extend these capabilities to classified systems.

The collaboration focuses on accelerating multi-modal data analysis, improving research and development processes, and optimizing logistics operations. By processing and analyzing vast datasets in minutes instead of days, Lockheed Martin aims to identify critical patterns and anomalies more efficiently. The use of generative AI is also expected to accelerate the exploration of new materials, designs, and software, thereby shortening technology development cycles and enhancing mission readiness.

Lockheed Martin’s AI Factory will serve as the foundation for this integration, enabling engineers to leverage Google’s AI capabilities safely and at scale. The initiative reflects a broader effort to build trustworthy and secure AI systems that support Lockheed Martin’s 21st Century Security® strategy and the evolving demands of national defense.
